Another mountain that it’s worth the visit is Zlatibor Mountain, which has developed into a famous mountain resort known as the best spa in Serbia. While here you can hike and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery, while you can also ski in winter.

Stara Planina which translated to Old Mountain is another place that you can’t miss. It offers one of the most beautiful nature and views in Europe. Since it’s under snow for almost five mounts a year, it’s the perfect place to visit if you are into winter sports. 

Apart from these, there are many more mountains that you can visit while in Serbia. All of these are perfect if you are into skiing or snowboarding, while if you visit them during the spring or summer periods, they are perfect for hiking and relaxing.

Smederevo Fortress will transport you back a few centuries.

Just like all the other Balkan countries, Serbia is also one which has a rich and interesting history. There are many historical spots and buildings to visit, that it’d take pages to list them all. However, there are some places that you absolutely must see if you are visiting this country.

One such place is the Belgrade Fortress, which was once used as a military stronghold. Inside this fortress, you can find various remnants of Serbian past, from a Roman well, some fantastic statues, a museum, a church and many more. 

There is also a place to relax, which is actually one of, if not the most beautiful parks in Serbia known as Kalemegdan Park. If not for the history and nature, you should definitely visit this fortress for the amazing views of the city of Belgrade

Apart from this fortress, you can also visit Smederevo Fortress which is a medieval fortified city. Then you can also head on to Golubac Fortress, which is located on the right side of the Danube River, offering some of the most picturesque views. 

As if these aren’t enough there is also another fortress, known as the Fortress of Zvecan which is known not only for its historical value but for the fact that it’s built on a volcano vent.

Another place that you can visit is the Nikola Tesla Museum, which is also located in the capital of Serbia. This museum holds some of Tesla’s documents, books, photographs, and equipment. If technology is something you are interested in, then this museum is a real treat. 

These are only a few of the things that you can see if you see this marvelous country. You can visit some of the unique churches and monasteries, amazing statues and monuments of fallen soldiers, as well as a skull tower.
