  2. Markets: sitting the whole day in the sunshine - except when it rains
  3. Matatu: 20 people compressed on 12 seats in a small bus is no rarity
  4. Boda boda: fast and flexible moped taxis - usually without speed display
  5. Mzungu: as the only white person, my friend and I are quite an attraction
