- Rift Valley Railway: connecting Uganda with the coast, built in early 1900
- First class: paying only 45 dollars for a unique and long lasting experience
- Food wagon: getting 3 full meals, dinner (skipped), breakfast and lunch
- Meet & Greet: suddenly speaking Swiss German at the breakfast table
- Long journey: spending nearly 20 hours on the slow and bumpy tracks
