Why You Need to Consider Renting a Yacht for Your Summer Holiday

Tuesday, February 22, 2022

It’s coming up to that time of year again - the days are getting longer, the sun is coming out, and we’re all starting to think about what we want to do this summer. If you are dreaming big, you might be considering a tropical, luxurious island getaway. What better place to experience paradise than in the sunny Bahamasinfo-icon? And what better mode of transport than a chartered yacht?

Here are five reasons why you need to consider renting a yacht this summer and sailing around the Bahamas in style.

The Weather

You can charter a luxury private yacht in the summer or winter seasons in the Bahamas. June to October are the hottest months in the Bahamas, with temperatures peaking in August. The coldest month is January, but even then you will experience temperatures in the seventies (Fahrenheit).

This tropical climate is a key selling point of holidaying in the beautiful Bahamas, especially if you are traveling from a colder environment. Alongside the incredible warmth, the Bahamas boasts turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and brilliant blue skies, all illuminated magically by the beating sun. It is truly a paradise, and with a private yacht, you can enjoy the tropical weather and beauty of the place to the fullest.

The Water

When you are exploring the turquoise waters, and white sandy beaches of the Bahamas, you will undoubtedly want to get acquainted with the local marine life. You can snorkel or scuba dive in the Andros Barrier Reef and see more than one hundred and sixty-four species of coral and fish. The Andros Barrier Reef is the third-largest barrier reef in the world and the third-largest living organism on the planet. At up to eight feet on the island side and six thousand feet deep on the ocean side, the Andros Barrier Reef is famous for its deepwater sponges, as well as large schools of red snapper fish.

The population of the red snapper fish, a one-to-two-foot-long, brightly colored fish, is in decline due to its popularity in fishing, so restrictions have been put in place to protect them. If you want to go fishing in the Bahamas, make sure you know what you are allowed to catch.

The Luxury Yacht

When you charter your private luxury yacht, you can choose a boat perfect for your needs. Through Bahamas motor yacht charters you can decide if you want a sail or motor yacht, a catamaran or monohull boat, and you can request that your boat come with a jacuzzi, jetskis, or both. You can also select a minimum number of cabins and a maximum price.

On your luxury chartered yacht you will find beautiful dining areas with views of the crystal clear waters, comfortable sitting areas for socializing, grand bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, sunny decks with sunbeds to relax on, and a kitchen area. You will also have an expert captain and a fantastic chef, who will prepare you welcome food and drinks on your arrival and delicious meals throughout your trip.

The Adventure

The Bahamas is a chain of islands spread out in the Atlantic Ocean. There are several beautiful and interesting spots you should try to check out on your trip - good thing you’ll be staying on a yacht and can sail all around the islands!

A must-see location is Big Major’s Spot where you will find Pig Beach. This is a beach that has become well-known on social media, as it is home to a group of pigs that you can interact with. This makes for some very interesting photos. Remember, pigs are good swimmers, so if you take a dip in the ocean, don’t be surprised to find a pig following you into the water!

You should also head over to Staniel Cay, one of the busiest areas of the Bahamas, which boasts ample restaurants, bars, social opportunities, beautiful beaches, and tourist attractions. One such attraction is Thunderball Grotto, which has been featured in James Bond films Thunderball and Never Say Never Again. This is an incredible underwater cave system that is perfect for photography, snorkeling, and diving.

Thunderball Grotto is home to exotic marine life, such as beautiful coral reefs and bright-colored fish. You will likely see yellow-tail snappers, angelfish, and sergeant major fish, among others.

Sail Away In Style

Now that you have been convinced by the thought of tropical temperatures, incredible waters full of colorful marine life, and the prospect of thrilling adventures, you are ready to get online and charter a luxury private yacht and start planning your Bahamas getaway.

With a crewed luxury yacht at your disposal, delicious meals cooked for you and your guests, and the exciting beauty of the islands and ocean around you, this will truly be an unforgettable summer. Don’t forget to post a picture of Pig Beach on Instagram!
