Personal highlights
- Istiqlal Mosque: with a capacity of 200,000 the largest mosque in South East Asia
- Istiqlal: Arabic word for Independence, to commemorate Indonesia's Independence
- Location: right at the Merdeka Square and opposite the Catholic Jakarta Cathedral
- Ramadan: one month of fasting from dawn until sunset to abstain from consumption
- Architecture: some parts feel like a prison from the inside (my personal impression)
