Personal highlights

  1. Istiqlal Mosque: with a capacity of 200,000 the largest mosque in South East Asiainfo-icon
  2. Istiqlal: Arabic word for Independence, to commemorate Indonesiainfo-icon's Independence
  3. Location: right at the Merdeka Square and opposite the Catholic Jakarta Cathedral
  4. Ramadan: one month of fasting from dawn until sunset to abstain from consumption
  5. Architecture: some parts feel like a prison from the inside (my personal impression)
