If you want to explore temples in Yangon, start with this ancient pagoda. This 330-feet tall stupa is an iconic monument in Myanmar which welcomes thousands of visitors every year. It is believed to have been built in the 6th century by Mon people of Myanmar. 

The Shwedagon Pagoda architecture is also noteworthy and has been subjected to renovations since the 15th century. The main stupa is covered in gold and decorated with precious rubies and diamonds. In addition to the main stupa, there are four gateways, four smaller stupas, and eight small shrines.
